About Edgartown
map
Edgartown was founded in 1671 and is located in Dukes County on Martha's Vineyard. It was the first colonial settlement in Martha's Vineyard.

Those who visit Edgartown and are interested in historical land marks visit the Vincent House which was built in 1672 and is the oldest house on the island. It is now a museum as is the Thomas Cooke House.

Another house of interest is the Dr. Daniel Fisher House which is directly next door to the Old Whaling Church. The church has now been transformed into the Performing Arts Center.

Seminar: Raising the Steaks with Chef Christopher Coombs
Join notable Boston-based chef and co-owner of Boston Chops and Deuxave, Christopher Coombs, as he takes guests through a beef and wine focused journey that incorporates some of the more well-known cuts of meat, such as the sirloin and filet mignon along with a look at some of the “Rarely Celebrated” parts of the cow, such as the oxtail and beef tongue.

Coombs owns the award-winning steakhouse, Boston Chops, which is located in Boston’s Back Bay and was featured on the cover of the February issue of “Food & Wine” Magazine.  Coombs will talk about best cooking practices, different parts of the cow, how marbling comes into play, and of course, what wines pair best with red meat.   Chris will also take some time to talk about other important elements of a true steakhouse, including: a great raw bar selection, steak house side dishes, and decadent desserts.  Explore practices from both sides of the house and get more than just the answer to the age-old question of ‘red wine with beef'?

The Winnetu Oceanside Resort will be providing a roundtrip shuttle service from Edgartown for this seminar.  Attendees will be provided with shuttle details closer to the event date.
